Nina Stössinger

Sept. 22 - Oct. 20, 2017

Cal Poly’s University Art Gallery presents “Type Design: A Journey” by artist Nina Stössinger in her first solo exhibition. The exhibit will open with a talk by Stössinger, a Swiss typeface designer, at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, in Room 123 of the Bioresource and Agricultural Engineering Building (No. 8) on campus. A reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. in the gallery, located on the ground floor of the Dexter Building (No. 34).

The exhibition traces Stössinger’s journey into typeface design, from her first published font family through her more recent work including typeface design, sketches and lettering. Her documented processes, explorations and final results will be on display. They tell a story of discovering the formal language of letterforms and the myriad forms they can take. The University Art Gallery is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
